Mission:
The SoBLA, the Society for Latinoamerican Biophysicists, was founded in the mid-eighties by a group of colleagues who sought to open a forum to discuss and promote biophysics in Latin America. The Sobla is a society of individuals that for reasons of origin, network, and/or affections have decided to help strengthen biophysics in Latin America.
SoBLa's mission is multi-pronged. We catalyze interactions with Latin Biophysicists worldwide, fostering the exchange of novel ideas, and generating opportunities for establishing collaborations among them. We also facilitate and promote the career development of young biophysicists in Latin America and abroad. Lastly, we promote the fundamental nature of biophysics for understanding biological processes and the development/expansion of biophysics worldwide.
Misión:
La SoBLA, Sociedad de Biofísicos Latinoamericanos, fue fundada a mediados de los años ochenta por un grupo de colegas, quienes buscaban abrir un fórum para discutir y fomentar la biofísica en América Latina. La SOBLA es una sociedad de individuos que por razones de origen, nexos y/o afectos hemos decidido contribuir a fortalecer la biofísica en Latino América.
La misión de la SOBLA tiene un enfoque multifacético. Catalizamos interacciones con biofísicos latinos de todo el mundo, fomentando el intercambio de ideas novedosas y generando oportunidades para establecer colaboraciones entre ellos. También facilitamos y promovemos el desarrollo profesional de jóvenes biofísicos en América Latina y en el extranjero. Por último, promovemos la biofísica como proceso fundamental dentro de la biología y el desarrollo de la biofísica en todo el mundo.
